3. PayPal uses an email ID as its user ID. Please make a fresh email ID for PayPal and avoid it sharing with anyone else other than your business partners (clients). You will have to add your correct address, DOB, bank account details and then you need to get.verified by PayPal via Credit Card.
In India verification is only possible via Credit Card.
How to get PayPal verified in India:
1. First requirement is a Credit Card.
2. Enter your Credit Card number and wait for the Credit Card statement.
3. You will receive a 4 to 5 digit code in your CC statement mentioning a transaction of USD
1.95 with PayPal. Enter than 4 to 5 digit code in your PayPal account and click - Verify my Account button.
4. You are verified.
Congratulations.
PayPal is not banned in India but now the way it is to be used are changed. Earlier, a lot of Medical Transcriptionists, Software Programmers, Bloggers and Data Entry Operators use to receive money in form of Person to Person payment. This option is blocked by RBI now.
What does Person to Person
payment mean?
It means that if you are a software programmer and get paid by a client outside India, then you must invoice the client and ask them to pay to you against an invoice. Your client just cannot send you. money unless you send them an invoice. An invoice can be generated in PayPal website. There is not need to send any kind of physical invoice.
Earlier, people used to send money as Person to Person transfer.But now, the money has to be shown as a result of earning out of sales of goods or services.
Why this?
RBI wants to ensure that PayPal is used by educated an honest professionals as an online payment method and not misused as a 'Hawala' channel.
